Special Encompass Lunch on Tuesday 2nd May
We will be welcoming Jessica Gunjal from India. Jessica has worked with Oasis India since 2003. With a Master’s degree in Social Work and a degree in Commerce, Jessica currently serves as the Project Coordinator for Rehabilitation, overseeing the Residential Care Home, the Learning and Livelihoods Center, the Group Home and Oasis’ work in Government homes in Mumbai.
With a vision to declare and proclaim the love of God, both Jessica and her husband James work with Oasis in vulnerable communities to ensure that everyone is included, making a contribution and reaching their God-given potential. She has worked with victims of commercial sex trafficking, homeless youth and excluded communities as Liaison Officer of the Vocational Training Center, served as Team Leader for the Beersheba Project that focused on trafficked victims, commercial sex workers, the sexually abused and people living with HIV/AIDS. As Rehabilitation Officer and later the Project Leader of Oasis’s Government Home Project, Jessica worked to build the capacity of the government home staff and supplement the care given to victims of trafficking within the homes. Jessica has found great satisfaction working with women and young adults. Growing up as the third child in her family, Jessica used to feel neglected and left out of decisions, despite knowing that her parents loved her. At a very young age, she related to and sensed a deep desire to help those who felt rejected or unloved. Her passion to help the rejected find unconditional acceptance and move ahead in their lives keeps her going. She is constantly amazed to see God using her to share his love and transform lives.
On the first Tuesday of each month from 12noon. We join in a bring-and-share lunch together and then there is normally some entertainment or something else of interest.
Encompass Cake & Cuppa
On the third Tuesday of each month at 2.30pm. A more traditional tea with cakes and good company. There is usually a ‘thought for the day’ or something else to round off our afternoons together.
