Debbie will start with us on the 31st of May at the end of the Summer half-term. She will support and help grow our work with younger children and their families both at St Paul’s and at Sarisbury Junior School where she will work as the school Family Link Worker.
We very much look forward to welcoming Debbie in May and she has written to introduce herself:
My name is Debbie and I am really looking forward to working with you all.
Here is a little bit about myself , I grew up in Ringwood, where I started going to church at the age of three. It was, however, when I was at university that I chose to accept Jesus for myself. It was at that point I started my journey with God to become a children’s worker. This journey has involved working in school as both a teaching assistant and teacher, travelling overseas to India, the Philippines and Uganda, where I worked with children in slums and garbage cities. God then led me to Bible college at Moorlands.
Currently I live in Knowle, Birmingham working as an Assistant Children’s Minister and my days are filled with creatively planning new ways of teaching the Bible, working alongside many amazing volunteers and having fun whilst we do it. I also lead collective worship, do school visits, Bible clubs in school, and after-school clubs, which all keeps me very busy but I thoroughly enjoy seeing God use what we plan and prepare to plant seeds in children’s lives.
I am really looking forward to coming alongside everyone at St Paul’s and becoming part of the community.
